Featured Missionaries of the Month

Our mission emphasis this month is Harvest Hands Ministries under the direction of its founders, Gary and Terry Matthewson.  For more than 26 years, their dedicated and faithful leadership has led to the development of Resplandor De Vida Children's Home (RDV) and Instituto Harvest Hands (IHH).  Located on the outskirts of Juarez, Mexico, RDV is a Christ-centered home for impoverished children.  The directors and employees are dedicated to helping each child in their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.  Prayer, Bible study, education, proper nutrition, rest, hygiene, music, tutorial help, and exercise are part of their daily lives.  teaching the children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrating God's love will guide them on the path to eternal life.  Opened in 2023, IHH (grades 1-6) offers academic studies and instruction about God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Six years of Christ-centered education potentially help to mold the character of young lives and instill in them Biblical values.  Harvest Hands Ministries has also been instrumental in Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday School curriculum, Evangelism in the local community, Chapel services, and support to churches.  FCC, as well as other local churches, has participated in short-term mission trips to Juarez, Mexico, have participated in many ways, including Vacation Bible Schools, home visitations, construction, and building maintenance projects.  Children have received many needed items through the yearly shoebox ministry.  Please pray for those from our church who will be going on the team mission trip in July 2026.
Our second mission emphasis this month is United Christian Advocacy Network (UCAN).  Located in Jamestown, UCAN City Mission provides emergency shelter to the homeless or displaced and instills positive lasting change by promoting lifestyle changes driven by Jesus' life and love.  Under the direction of Bruce Baehr, the mission anticipates expanded services including life skills classes, Employment Assistance Partnerships, Mentorship, Spiritual Growth, and mental health wellness.  UCAN's key verse, John 14:6 (Jesus - The Way, the Truth, and the Life) offers hope and life transformation to all who come to the mission for help.
