The Jewells
This month, we are also praying for The Boy's Jim Club of America. The idea of the Jim Club originated from a railroad engineer, Jim Davis, Sr., wearing a small pen on his overalls, which stood for “Jesus is Mine.” Jim Davis, Sr., passed that idea to his son Jimmie Davis, who began The Boys Jim Club of America in 1954. As an evangelist, Jimmie traveled the country from California to New York, presenting the gospel and sharing his ministry skills with campers throughout the country. The Jim Club of Bemus Point offers a Christian leadership training camp for pre-teen boys in a two-week residential setting. Their primary mission is to disciple boys to love Jesus deeply and express Him vividly to others every day. Life at camp includes a balanced schedule of spiritual, physical, and practical training. Ministry training skills include preaching, gospel magic, Bible chapter recitation, ventriloquism, juggling, music, drama, ballooning, and mime. Once trained, the campers join organized Gospel teams that present at area churches. Information about the camp: www.boysjimclub.org/camp-life or register@boysjimclub.org.

Our missionary family for this month is Tim and Jenny Kangas, serving the Lord in Snvol, Cambodia. Their ongoing mission is to proclaim the gospel and establish mature, indigenous, reproducing churches throughout Cambodia. They have established the Kratie Church in Snvol as well as a 3-month Bible study course at Kratie prison. In order to reach the teenagers and youth of the surrounding area, their prayer request is to start a Bible study in one of the dormitories near the public high school. They are also asking for prayers for the whole families to come to Jesus and for new believers to know and love God’s Word. Through the church ministry, Christian men and women in Snvol are learning to apply God’s word to their daily lives and to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. God (Slowly but steadily) is adding to the number of those being saved (Acts 2:47). The church group in Snvol is also considering purchasing a plot of land to be used for a permanent church building near the market and town center. Pray for the new Christians in Snvol to grow in the ‘fruit of the Spirit’ (Galatians 5). Tim and Jenny may be contacted at tjkangas@gmail.com.
